Bones are calcium bound informations that recount the history of life on Earth. They depict the form variety of living beings throughout time. And they tells us who we were, and why we are, with love interwoven in the grand design of existence.

“Still Remains” proposes an analogous narrative. Various bone structures, anthropomorphic, zoomorphic and aleatoric, inhabit the foggy, fertile flatlands. These simulated entities are here the exclusive presence, mise-en-scène is void of other insignia of man. Ceremonial in their abandoned dignity, they emerge as creations of an (only apparently) absent demiurge.

The scenery, appears pictorially immobile. Yet, both the osseous formations and the atmospheric turmoil of the landscape, are charged with restrained motion. Changing abruptly, to challenge our fragmented attention.

“Still Remains” premiered in August 2015, during the DobiArtEventi Festival in Staranzano (GO), Italy.
Musical score was performed (and recorded) during the screening of the film. This practice continued where possible, allowing the video’s double life, with musical variations during live performances and as standalone artwork.
